Best GIFTED activity

My favorite GIFTED activity was when we did the Mythbusters toast expiriment. We dropped toast from a high ledge. It was buttered toast. The side it landed on the most was buttered side UP.

The mythbusters toast was my favorite because we

got to drop toast from the 2nd floor of the school

and we also had to CLEAN it up. And it always seams

My favorite day of gifted

My favorite day of gifted was when we built our own MYTH BUSTERS!We did a myth busters with toast to see if buttered toast always lands buttered side down.We also did a myth busters with germs to see what part of the school has the worst germs after a couple of weeks. For the buttered toast experiment it was random if it lands buttered side up or down and for the germs activity it was the water fountain that had the most germy place. It ROCKED!!!!!

Lighthouse field trip

Today in GIFTED we went on a field trip to the st.Augustine lighthouse. The first mission: climb the lighthouse it had 219 steps. I was very scared to go up but I conquered my FEAR OF HEIGHTS! In the st.Augustine lighthouse museum there was a section called make it move. Make it move was a attraction of numerous simple machines that could could teach you about movement! Before the lighthouse had electricity the lighthouse keepers had to use melted pig fat.We went to the observation deck and I went to the lenses room and saw the light bulb behind plastic glass. In 1936 this lighthouse was the last one to get electricity.

SUPERFUNTASTIC DAY OF GIFTED!! (that was cool)

Today in GIFTED we did a lot of fun stuff like, Was it possible? And Attention Getters. To start out let's talk about Was it possible? What we did was, we would have a question like, was it possible for Peter the Great to put barbed wire around his castle? Then we would figure it out by using the internet. SPOOKY! And for attention getters we were learning more about advertising. We looked at newspapers and looked for 1.headline 2.illustration 3.subhead 4.sales talk. And ....... that is ALL.

SOME SUPER DUPER AWESOMELY AWESOME THINGS WE DID AT GIFTED (it was awesome)

Today at gifted to start out, we did something called SILLY SENTENCES if you've seen the show WHO'S LINE IS IT ANYWAY? And you if like it you'd love this activity we would take a sentance out of a bag randomly and we would be told what situation we were in and get a conversation started and somewhere we would say our sentance somewhere in the conversation. Next we did something called HIDDEN PERSUADERS. We would learn about different kinds of ads. This week we learned about 3 ads called name calling, image advertisement, and plain folks. Then we watched a video on youtube and filled out on paper which kinda ad it was. Last we did something called
VALENTINE ISLAND where a group of two would think of a valentine :-) themed thing and theme our island after the valentine :-) themed thing me and my partner decided base our island of candy because thats what some give each other, And that about explains our day at GIFTED!!!!!!! :-)

A Swinging Good Day

Today we did a cool thing called "Swinging Science" it's cool because you get to put a string and different items and you get to do it with your friends oh don't forget you can do it anywhere you can tie a string. You can do it with alot of different things to tie on one of the ends. We used the scientific method to figure out how certain things would effect how far the string would swing like a pendulum. We changed the weight, length, and size of the swing to see how it effected how fast the pendulum would swing. Light things were faster and so was the medium size string. It was very cool!

Today we did gabcasts. For an ad that we choose. And of course we had to pick a topic, We chose our show that we put on www.youtube.com/bobandmrhappy,obviously our show is called Bob and Mr. Happy's Funhouse house. (we spell Mr.happy's that way.) Deep Thoughts

I have a question to pose to all of you...if you had a choice of something that you would be interested in learning more about- any topic at all that is reasonable to learn about at school- what would it be? For example- I myself would pick neuroscience (basically the brain in other words) beacuse that topic fascinates me. What would you pick??? Grids to all those who leave comments!

Cool day of Gifted

Today we made our own radio advertisment. First, we thought of something to advertise. Then we made up a skit (A skit is something you would read for a play or something). Then we performed it. The people that were listening had to turn around the other way and closed their eyes. We also made invisible ink and we wrote with it on a piece of paper. We used a base & an acid. Then they reacted with each other. We also did drinking straw pulse. We used clay & a straw to measure our pulses.
